Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our growing team and play a critical role in establishing and advancing our Cloud DevOps practices. In this role, you will work closely with the DevOps Architect and development teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. You will be responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, and implementing monitoring and alerting solutions. This is a hands-on technical role that requires a strong foundation in cloud services, automation, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), scripting, and DevOps tools. Prior experience in the aviation industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure Design

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to architect secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.

Tooling & Automation

  • Build and set up development and infrastructure tools to support CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and tooling to streamline release processes.
  • Develop automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Encourage and integrate automated processes across the lifecycle.

Monitoring & Reliability

  • Implement and maintain monitoring stacks and alerting systems.
  • Continuously improve observability and incident response mechanisms.
  • Build and maintain highly available production systems with robust failover strategies.

DevOps Lifecycle Management

  • Define and manage development, testing, release, update, and support processes.
  • Monitor lifecycle adherence and refine processes to minimize waste and improve performance.
  • Lead incident management and root cause analysis for system failures.

Security & Compliance

  • Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures through vulnerability assessments and risk management.
  • Ensure configuration compliance using configuration management tools.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Guide the team in evaluating and adopting new technologies.
  • Work closely with software engineering to align infrastructure with application needs.
  • Review, verify, and validate software code for quality and security.
  • Troubleshoot issues across diverse services and platforms, including Linux-based systems.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Understand customer requirements and project KPIs.
  • Plan team structure and activities, contributing to project management efforts.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and external interfaces.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Cloud and DevOps engineering, with a proven track record in infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and cloud-based deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions.

Cloud Platforms & Infrastructure

  • Proficient in AWS, Azure, and GCP services including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Fargate, EKS, and Azure AKS.
  • Skilled in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
  • Experience managing production infrastructure and ensuring compliance through automated provisioning and configuration.

DevOps & Automation

  • Expertise in CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and similar tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Node.js, Go, PHP, Perl, Ruby, and REST APIs.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps principles and best practices for high-availability, always-on services.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.

Development Skills

  • Experience in frontend development using frameworks like Vue.js, React, and Angular.
  • Solid background in Linux/Unix and Windows system administration.
  • Strong database skills with SQL and MySQL; familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as Redis.

Communication & Visualization

  • Ability to visually present and communicate architectural designs and system workflows.
  • Comfortable working with open-source technologies and integrating diverse cloud services.
